The Carbon Company is a team of passionate individuals with a shared goal of solving climate change. We’ve talked to people around the globe and found a strong desire to improve the climate. We’ve also found that barriers to an abundant and inclusive climate future are no longer purely technical; they are primarily social and political. The key to success lies in one crucial element: speed. We need to accelerate progress and the only way to speed up is to engage far more people.

Our mission at The Carbon Company is to solve climate change by bringing people together around a shared purpose. Our collective power ensures that each action taken to address climate change becomes part of a cascading effect to shatter the status quo and create a more abundant and inclusive climate future.

We want to make it easy for people to know they’re making a difference by doing what’s most important to them - whether it's hiking, biking, spending time with friends, or simply paying the bills.

To achieve the results we all desire, we’re developing a set of climate impact tools that link what people already do to positive climate impact. Our first solution is called The Carbon Card. Unlike traditional credit cards, The Carbon Card is designed specifically to address climate change. With The Carbon Card, 1% of our collective purchases go directly to real projects that make a real, measurable impact on turning back the clock on climate change. Now, each time you decide to make a purchase, you actively contribute to climate solutions.

By harnessing the power of the global economy we can drive significant change. Of the $100 trillion economy, $60 trillion is driven by consumer spending, and we can direct billions toward climate solutions with a tiny fraction of this spending. As we grow, we plan to expand beyond cards to phone plans, entertainment, and other industries - transforming our spending into an agent of positive change.

Transparency and accountability are at the core of everything we do. The Carbon Company carefully selects investments based on impact criteria including Speed, Scale, and Inclusion. We look for projects that start showing results within 2 years, where the impact extends as broadly as possible, and where the benefits are enjoyed by everyone and not just the privileged few. We share our decision-making process and results for everyone to see. The Carbon Crew, our community of cardholders, has a voice in shaping our initiatives. Card members have the opportunity to vote in special investment events, view impact metrics, and celebrate and share collective success.
